knitting, fibre, connection

Friday May 26th – Sunday May 28th, 2023

Spots are limited. Workshop details are here.

Since 1999 OKR has attracted knitters of all levels, from those who have only recently picked up the art of knitting and purling, to those who are designing their own patterns. The purpose of this retreat is to encourage, share, and develop an independence and deeper appreciation of the knitting process. We are an intentionally small retreat focused on local knowledge, making the weekend more accessible to the fibre community.

We have two amazing Canadian indie yarn dyers vending this year – The Mimo Yarn Company from Revelstoke and Fleece Artist/ Handmaiden from Halifax.

We are honoured to host the retreat on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwepemc people at the beautiful Sorrento Centre in Sorrento, BC. All peoples of all genders are welcome at the retreat.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are all ardent fibre lovers, eager to share their passion for knitting.
