learn, share, knit

Since 1999 OKR has attracted knitters of all levels, from those who have only recently picked up the art of knitting and purling, to those who are designing their own patterns. The purpose of this retreat is to encourage, share and develop an independence and deeper appreciation of the knitting process. We are an intentionally small retreat focused on local knowledge, making the weekend more accessible to the fibre community.

We are honoured to host the retreat on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwepemc people at the beautiful Sorrento Centre in Sorrento, BC. All peoples of all genders are welcome at the retreat.

Our Teachers

Our instructors are all ardent fibre lovers, eager to share their passion for knitting.

Okanagan Knitting Retreat

Founded in 1999 by fibre artist Janet Armstrong, the OKR is now run by Kristy Hennings and takes place at the Sorrento Centre in beautiful British Columbia.
